Is Your Internet Ready for Cloud Gaming in 2026?

Gaming Without a Console?
Cloud gaming promises the dream: Play Cyberpunk 2077 on an old laptop. But it shifts the burden from your GPU to your Internet connection.
The Sacred Triangle of Cloud Gaming
- Speed (Bandwidth): You need at least 50Mbps for 4K streaming. This is the easy part.
- Latency (Ping): The time it takes for your button press to reach NVIDIA's server and the video frame to return. If this > 40ms, it feels floaty.
- Stability (Jitter): The most important part. A single dropped frame can cause the video stream to artifact or freeze.
The Verdict
If you have Fiber internet and physically live within 300 miles of a datacenter: YES, it's indistinguishable from local play. If you are on DSL or questionable WiFi: NO, stick to hardware.
