Privacy and data use

The website, browser extension and Android app use network services. They are not zero-collection products. The information below distinguishes the website controls from the behavior of installed app versions.

Running a test

Your browser sends downloads, uploads and latency requests to Cloudflare. Network services necessarily receive your public IP address. Hosting and network providers may process request metadata in their operational and security logs. Our website does not ask for precise device geolocation. The current website engine disables its optional measurement-log endpoints; this does not disable provider access or security logs.

History on your device

The website keeps up to 30 recent results, timestamps, test mode and connection conditions you select in browser storage. These conditions are not automatically detected. Use Clear history to remove the records or clear your browser site data. CSV files you export remain wherever you save them. If storage is unavailable, history lasts only for the current visit.

Optional contribution of measurements

If you enable this option, the website sends speed, latency, jitter and bufferbloat results to DC SPEED. The PHP endpoint retains the latest 200 submitted records and forwards metrics to our Cloudflare backend. The current website contribution does not include your email or the connection conditions you entered. Earlier versions also submitted ISP and country where available. Older server-side data is not erased when you change browser preferences. Backend records have no automatic expiry in the current implementation; contact us about access or removal.

Analytics and advertising

Google Analytics is optional and measures page visits, test outcomes and page performance only after you enable it. Adsterra advertising loads automatically on content pages without a site advertising opt-in. Adsterra and its advertising partners may receive your IP address, browser and device information, page origin and ad interactions, and may use cookies and related identifiers to deliver and measure advertising. Advertising frames are removed during speed measurements and may load again afterwards. Ads outside the visible area load as you approach them. The controls below and in the footer apply to optional analytics and contribution of measurements; they do not disable advertising. The current advertising integration uses Adsterra and Push.House while AdSense approval is pending.

Cloudflare may also process delivery, security and performance information as the network provider. Browser preferences do not disable essential infrastructure logging. Providers apply their own retention policies; DC SPEED does not promise immediate deletion from their systems.

Push.House / Partners.House In-Page advertising is currently paused pending review of its category filters. Its providers may process IP address, browser and device identifiers, cookies and advertising interactions. Sponsored Web Push notifications require browser permission and are enabled through the notification button in the footer. You can revoke that permission in your browser site settings. These are advertising offers, not internet outage alerts. The statistics controls do not subscribe you to notifications.

Newsletter, purchases and restoration

Newsletter subscriptions store the submitted email and subscription information. Subscription messages provide an unsubscribe option. Stripe processes payments. Purchase and license flows use email, payment references and a generated device identifier to activate or restore access. Restoration sends a temporary code to the purchase email. Purchased reports can include the measurement and network information submitted at checkout. Payment and operational records are separate from browser history; contact us to discuss deletion and any records that must be retained.

Extension and Android application

Installed versions have their own permissions and storage. The extension uses tabs for the requested active-tab analysis, storage for preferences, license state and history, alarms for scheduled checks, downloads for export and sidePanel for its interface. Network requests can reach Cloudflare, ipapi.co, dcspeedtest.com and the DC SPEED Cloudflare backend. Purchase and restore requests transmit the information needed to process them. The website privacy switches do not control separately installed applications. Consult the installed version and its store disclosures; contact us for app-specific data requests.

Contact and provider information

For questions or requests about your information, contact [email protected]. Do not send passwords, complete card numbers or restoration codes. We may need information sufficient to verify the request.
