Gaming connection diagnostic

Investigate delay and instability with a measured baseline and repeatable comparisons. This page does not ping Valorant, CS2, Fortnite or other game servers.

Methodology correction โ€” September 23, 2026: the previous matrix labeled generic cloud and CDN endpoints as specific game servers. Those labels and the corresponding rankings have been removed.

Check response stability

Run 12 small HTTPS requests to Cloudflare. The displayed time includes HTTP and browser overhead; it is not ICMP ping, packet loss or in-game latency. Failed HTTP requests are reported separately.

Use the same conditions

  1. Pause downloads and backups, then run the standard speed test. Record idle and loaded latency.
  2. Repeat using Ethernet instead of Wi-Fi, or move closer to the router. Change one condition at a time.
  3. Compare the results in your history, using the same test mode. Repeat at the time when the problem usually happens.
  4. Check your actual game: use its network statistics and the same selected region. A good result to Cloudflare cannot guarantee a good route to the game.

Run the full test and compare

What the measurements can tell you

A rise in latency during transfers is consistent with congestion or queueing somewhere along the test path. It does not locate the bottleneck. Wi-Fi, the router, the access network, distant routes and the device can all affect results.

A VPN changes the route and may improve or worsen it. Test with and without it before paying for a service. An Ethernet cable does not guarantee zero loss, and a higher cable category is not a universal latency fix.
